Repair and Trouble-shooting
When Raging River began it was pointed directly at design. As luck would have it repairs seemed to come instead, and about 2AM one night a friend handed me a server to figure out. I actually did look – for a time – like the guy in the image above, but so did my new repair customers.
However, having both a management and a telecom background I didn’t panic. After all, in telecom if you “drop traffic” you can just head on home, you’re done. Panic never helps
To be honest, this combination of repairs and a “free server” worked hand in hand quite well. Sort of like a crash course in full stack, with the training wheels removed.
Since it’s inception Raging River has never lost a patient, either during repairs, or afterwards.

Repair
I am locked out of my website and can’t figure out how to get back in.
My designer fell in love and moved to Florida. Once the check cleared he quit answering my calls and emails.
My friend has a charity and their website has been hacked.
My website is spam-vertising.
My website hasn’t been updated in about 9 years and GoDaddy said they couldn’t help me.
All of these, scary though they may be, are problems we have been presented, fixed and secured against with our proven solutions. We have never had a client of ours need any repairs, once they became our client of course.
Trouble-shooting
Umm, isn’t trouble-shooting the same as repair?
No, not quite. Trouble-shooting, in this sense, means preventing repairs ever being needed.
Here is a good example. My friend and mechanic back in Washington asked me one day to look at his website and see what it needed. He gave me his login credentials but when I opened his site I was redirected to an advertisement. It was advertising his domain name being up for sale. The minimum price that would be entertained, it said, was $500 USD and the URL was his, except that it began with “ww1.”.
In this case it was too late to help. However this is the type of problem trouble-shooting is designed to prevent.
My friend was not an email person, he was a talented and rather renowned custom auto body and paint man known as Champ. (He did mechanical work for me because I got him a Mercedes Limo for a good price.) Someone was watching through their membership in GoDaddy Auction the domains which came up for renewal.
Had he been with us a few months earlier we would have been watching too. Rather than just hit him with a few emails we would have called him, or in this case driven the 8 blocks to his shop and made him go to his office and pay the bill.
While we cannot promise to visit your place of business, we can monitor your domain renewal, hosting, SSL certificate renewal etc. and see to it that you are actually aware of it. And we can save you money on all of these through our partners, should you feel the need to change them.
Raging River will also optimize your security settings, set you up on Cloudflare – a great DDoS solution – and install a quality re-captcha to guard against robo- spammers.
We can also save you on Wordfence Pro, should you need that. For most the free version of Wordfence works just fine, properly optimized. We’ll let you know which you need, and we’ll even be honest about it.
